Holi For 800 Plus Students At Lautoka School

Coming from different religious backgrounds, students of Lautoka Andhra Sangam School came together to celebrate the Hindu festival of colours Holi.
School head teacher, Anjili Ratnam said Holi was amongst the many festivals celebrated in the school with more than 800 students.
Ms Ratnam said it was important to teach the children about the different festivals as it would allow them to recognise and give respect towards other cultures.

“Holi is the Hindu festival of colours and this is one time where we have to create awareness amongst our children about the true meaning of Holi,” she said.
“One important message that we want to give to our children is to forget about your differences, come together because we are one, togetherness is very important to teach to the children.
“All children from all different races are here in this school and we are glad that they are slowly learning about their culture.”
