A grieving mother is counting on the Fiji Police Force to unravel the mystery surrounding her son’s death.
The body of Steven Sachin Singh, 35, was discovered at the edge of the Toga Bridge near Nausori by a group of men who were on their way to work on Wednesday morning.
Shila Wati, 72, is now seeking answers about what happened to her son, the father of her five grandchildren. She is wondering what that led to the gruesome discovery of his body.

Mr Singh, who was a home-based mechanic, left home at 11am on Tuesday morning without telling his family where he was going.
When the Fiji Sun visited their Nakasi family home yesterday, the sound of wailing from a distraught mother filled the home.
“He did not tell me where he was going, he left me without saying goodbye,” Ms Wati wailed.
“I had also lost a son a few years back and now another one is leaving me, this is so painful.
“I just need answers and I hope I will get them soon.”
Mr Singh’s widow Priya Devi recalled her last moments with her husband.
“On Tuesday morning he just had his breakfast and we were all just sitting around the house when he told me that he would just take a walk and he’d be right back,” Ms Devi said.

“I told them that we did not fight about anything and that we were always talking about everything and anything and that we were always on good terms. It was then that they relayed the sad news that my husband was found dead.”
She said she would not rest until she found out about what led to her husband’s death.
“The day he went missing he had two phones, a button phone and a smartphone. When he was found there was no phone in his pocket.
“There were also visible injuries on his head that we could notice but it looked totally new. He didn’t have them when he left home on Tuesday.
“We want to know what happened, how he died. He didn’t take any money, but only his mobile phones and I really don’t know how he ended up in Toga, Rewa.”
Police Spokesperson Wame Bautolu confirmed that an autopsy would be carried today to ascertain the cause of death.
He could not confirm if there had been any suspects questioned by Police.
He added that as Police await the autopsy result, investigations continue.
