Issues which plagued SODELPA’s confidence in the Coalition Government are probably serious, says Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka.

He said the Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) had every right to voice its concern, but he would not start a conversation if there was no letter.

“I have not received any letter from SODELPA. I will deal with them if I get it,” he said yesterday.

SODELPA had planned to write an ultimatum to express its disappointment as some terms in the Coalition agreement were said to have not been met.

It included a warning to deflect to the FijiFirst party if its concerns were not addressed, which was later withdrawn last Friday.

Several players in the political space have strongly warned against SODELPA defecting to FijiFirst.

In its initial letter of concern to Mr Rabuka, dated January 12, and in a subsequent follow-up on June 12, SODELPA questioned PA’s turnaround time to meet its demands.

“There is no threat yet from SODELPA,” Mr Rabuka said.

He was the SODELPA leader before he left to form the PA.
