Acting Commissioner of Police, Juki Fong Chew, has welcomed the appointment of Rusiate Tudravu as the incoming Commissioner of Police (COMPOL).
Mr Chew praised Mr Tudravu's experience, noting his previous role as acting COMPOL and his external assessment of the Force.
"He's coming in with a fresh perspective," Mr Chew said.

"I've already told the Force to support him as you supported me, and let's work together."
As his two-year term nears its end, Mr Chew reflected on the transitional nature of his tenure, acknowledging the challenges faced by both the police and the Coalition government.
"We've done our best with the knowledge and support we had, always striving to serve the people of Fiji," he said.
At a ceremony recognising more than 300 police officers, both retirees and current members, the acting commissioner urged them to continue supporting the incoming commissioner.
Each officer received a medal of honour for their long-standing service to the Force and the nation.
"Do not let petty issues, negativity, or rumours get in the way," he told them.
"Our focus should be on service delivery to the nation, not internal distractions."
In response to questions last Friday, Mr Tudravu expressed respect for Mr Chew's leadership, saying: "I want to maintain a lowkey profile for now and will make a statement when the time is right."
Mr Tudravu will start his duties as police commissioner next month, while Mr Chew will resume his role as Deputy Police Commissioner.
Mr Chew confirmed he is set to begin his leave this week.
