Indian High Commissioner Rounds Up Term
Ms Padmaja said her 16 months in Fiji would always be something to cherish.

Fiji is a paradise I will never forget.
These were the words of Indian High Commissioner to Fiji, Padmaja, whose term ends at the end of this month.
She arrived in Fiji in April last year with her husband Manoj Pande.

“It has been a tremendous privilege to serve the country as a member of the Indian Foreign Service,” Ms Padmaja said.
“I shall cherish every moment of my time in Fiji,” she said.
“I took over as High Commissioner of India to Fiji in April 2019. During this period, we have focused on strengthening cooperation between the two countries and also enhancing people to people contact.”
Ms Padmaja said her 16 months in Fiji would always be something to cherish.
“I have enjoyed every moment here with all the love, caring and warm bula smiles of Fiji,” she said.
“I want to thank everyone who has supported me in my journey here.”
Ms Padmaja said she was happy she had given her contributions to Fiji during his term.
These include boosting the Fiji-India relations.
Ms Padmaja was Deputy Director General for the Indian Council of Cultural Relations 2018 in New Delhi, India.
Prior to this, she was Joint Secretary (CPV Division) for the Ministry of External affairs from 2017-2018 in New Delhi, India.
She also held a few other diplomatic positions in other countries including England.
She holds a Master of Arts and a degree in Ancient History.
