Inmates Spend Time With Loved Ones
Smiles lit up the corrections facilities around the country as inmates had a chance to share a moment with their families over a meal.

Festive season, the Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) opened its doors to allow families of inmates to share Christmas lunch with their loved ones on Saturday, December 23.
For some it was also an emotional get together.
FCS director Rehabilitation Superintendent Waisale Soqonakalou said emotional scenes were witnessed as hundreds of inmates were reunited briefly with their loved ones over a home cooked meal.

Mr Soqonakalou said such activities helped maintain family bonds over Christmas, which was a very important date on the Christian calendar.
“We ensure all religious events or dates are observed such as Diwali where we invite Hindu family members or EID for Muslims. Today it’s Christmas for Christians in all institutions.”
