Interviews for FRU’s top job underway

The position of CEO became vacant in January, last year, when John O’Connor resigned. He took up the appointment on February 1, 2016, when he replaced Radrodro Tabualevu.

Two rounds of interviews for the Fiji Rugby Union’s CEO (chief executive officer) post have been conducted.

This was confirmed to SUNsports yesterday by FRU interim Trustees chairman Peter Mazey.

He highlighted that there were 18 candidates who had applied for the position of CEO through Global Elite Sports, the sports recruitment agency.

“Shortlisting has been done and all applicants are locals,” Mazey said.

“This was stressed in the advertisement that all applicants must be Fijian citizens.”

He said the shortlisting has been done and the interviews are now underway.
