Investigation Continues into Death of 20-Year-Old

Divisional Police Commander West, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Iakobo Vaisewa, confirmed yesterday that the post-mortem examination for 20-year-old Elina Naidike, found dead last Saturday has been completed.
SSP Vaisewa said that investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
Ms Naidike’s body was found on June 15 in Vitogo, Lautoka, and later taken to the Lautoka Hospital managed by Aspen Medical.

“The post-mortem has concluded. Police have continue investigating the case,” SSP Vaisewa confirmed.
“There were visible injuries on the deceased’s body, but Police have not yet determined their cause,” he added.
“No suspects have been taken into custody at this time. However, Police urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward.”
In a recent interview, Ms Naidike’s mother, Seini Sakeo, observed that her daughter’s face was disfigured. Ms Sakeo claims that a knife may have been used, noting a cut from the deceased’s upper eyebrow down to her cheek.
