Investigators probe Vakarisi's post mortem result

Police are continuing investigations into the death of Jone Vakarisi following the official lodgement of a report on April 17, 2026.

Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu said the investigation is underway, with both the Republic of Fiji Military Forces and the Fiji Police Force in agreement to allow due process.

“The heads of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces and the Fiji Police Force are both in consensus of letting the law take its course, through the conduct of the investigation which is currently underway.”

He said initial steps in the investigation had been completed.

“At the initial stage of the investigation, the post mortem was conducted, and the result is now with the investigators for further investigation.”
