Mohammed Feroz Iqbal, 42, received $1000 from the Micro and Small Business Grant (MSBG) in 2016 and is thankful for the Government assistance.

The Seaqaqa native has his farm sitting on a native lease which consists of 52 acres of land.

“I heard about the grant from the people in the community so I decided to apply and I am grateful that I received it,” Mr Iqbal said.

Mr Iqbal said he bought the fence for his goats with the grant he received.

“I have fenced the area where the goats graze and it has really helped.

“Now I don’t have to look for the goats because they are within the fence,” he said.

“I just started my cattle farming last year with 7 cattle.

“My kids help me on the farm. I have attended one livestock workshop and have really learned a lot.”

“Farming has really helped my family since this is our only source of income.

“I also own 17 acres of sugarcane farm.”

Mr Iqbal thanked the Government for its support.

He said he couldn’t have done it alone and with the grant, it boosted his confidence.
