Isoa to Follow in Late Father’s Footsteps

Isoa Matai wants to become a firefighter just like his late father.
“And I can’t wait to join primary school for Year 1 next year,” the six-year-old said.
He was one of the 24 students of Labasa Gospel Kindergarten who graduated yesterday.

His mother, Setaita Qiolevu, said since her husband died, young Isoa made up his mind to follow in his father’s footsteps. His father died following a Regular Fitness Level (RFL) test last year.
“Isoa has been actively involved in all the school-based activities and does not want to miss school any day as he loves to spend time in school,” Ms Qiolevu said.
“He’s an excellent student, loves writing, drawing and meeting up with friends.
“I will continue to be there for him and help him achieve his dream.”
