The man who played in all of the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua’s matches in this season’s Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific competition is on a mission.

Lanky lock Isoa Nasilasila told SUNsports that his campaign to play at the Rugby World Cup starts in winning a spot in this Saturday’s Punjas Pacific Battle Match 23 squad against Tonga at Churchill Park, Lautoka.

He underwent a gruelling training session under the watchful eyes of strength and conditioning coach, Naca Cawanibuka at the Sigatoka and dunes last Saturday.

Nasilasila knows that he is in a tough situation where he competes against seasoned campaigners like Api Ratuniyarawa, Temo Mayanavanua, Albert Tuisue, Peceli Yato, Lekima Tagitagivalu and Te Ahiwaru Cirikidaveta.

“From one to 15, there is a lot of depth in our team,” Nasilasila said.

“Right now, I am trying to do what I can do in training.”

Tamani back

Meanwhile, hardworking Drua looseman Joseva Tamani has joined the Flying Fijians squad.

Tamani who missed the Taveuni camp had been under injury rehab.

He injured his knee against the Reds and missed the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific quarterfinal clash against the Crusaders.

Tamani has recovered and is back with the squad. This was confirmed to SUNsports by the Fiji Rugby Union.

Also, undergoing injury rehab is prop Haereiti Hetet and is closely monitored by the Flying Fijians management.

The clash kicks-off at 3pm.
