Joint Rescue Operation Sees 3 Fishermen Rescued In Yasawa

On the 14th of November, Viliame Uqeuqe, Luke Vakatale and Maikeli Sivo managed to send out a text message to a fellow villager that they were experiencing trouble, whereby Police were informed and search and rescue efforts coordinated through the assistance of the three hotel operators.

Joint efforts by Police officers, staff of Turtle Island Resort, Oarsman Bay, Blue Lagoon, Fiji Maritime Rescue Coordination Center and nearby villages resulted in the successful rescue operations of three fishermen from Nadolodolo Village, Tavua who were rescued in the Yasawa Waters yesterday.

The three were reported missing after they failed to return from a fishing trip in the Yasawa - I Lau waters.
