Josefa adds honour award to most dedicated, graphic design prizes

Josefa Matainairai scooped the honour award at Suva Grammar School graduation on November 29, 2023.
While most students persevere in their academic journey a Suva Grammar School Year 13 student, Josefa Matainairai, was happy to scoop the Honour Award yesterday.
With mixed emotions Josefa remembered the tough journey where he lost his best friend.
The eldest of five siblings said being awarded the honour award was a testimony in itself.

“Being the deputy head boy of a prominent school in Suva, I had to handle everything with patience and understanding,” Josefa said.
“Juggling leadership roles and trying to excel with studies was an uphill battle, but all I can say is if God chooses me he will equip me through it no matter the circumstances.”
Josefa said teenagers today were handicapped for life by following the wrong crowd, but for him making sacrifices was important.
“My mum always tapped on the back, directing me to study hard, set goals and avoid peer pressure,” Josefa said.
The 18-year-old received three awards - most dedicated student and best graphic design student.
He hopes to pursue a study in information systems at the University of the South Pacific next year.
Josefa urged youths to realise that education was the key for a stable, prosperous future.
