Josefa Lagicere Becomes Village's First Doctor

“I had my primary school studies in Suva and halfway into my high school studies, I went to Australia. In 2016, I returned to Fiji,” Mr Lagicere said.

I have fulfilled my childhood dream of becoming a doctor, says Josefa Dina Lagicere.

The 24-year old from Vagidaci Village on Ovalau Island, graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the Fiji National University (FNU) yesterday.

Mr Lagicere also received the Certificate of Excellence and the Dean’s Honour’s award. He now becomes the first doctor in his village.

“I had my primary school studies in Suva and halfway into my high school studies, I went to Australia. In 2016, I returned to Fiji,” Mr Lagicere said.
