Judge Advises Burglar After Sentencing Duo

This was the advice Justice Thushara Kumarage gave Jese Masimaivei while sentencing him and Niko Bolavagone earlier this week.
The duo are convicted for burglary and theft.

On October 24, 2021, at Omkar Road, Nasinu, Bolavagone and Masimaivei had entered the three-dwelling houses of the complainant as trespassers with the intent to commit theft.
They stole one 32-inch Phillip brand TV valued at $550, one Dense brand radio with two speakers valued at $900, one Maxton brand deck valued at $79 with a total value of $1,529.
Bolavagone was sentenced to 32 months and 29 days while Masimaivei was sentenced to 25 months and 29 days imprisonment, which was partially suspended.
He will serve 13 months and 29 days of his sentence while the remaining period of 12 months is suspended for three years.
