Juvenile on Defilement Charge Fronts Court
The accused was advised by the court never to reoffend and not to communicate with the complainant or victim about the matter.

A 17-year-old boy fronted the Magistrate’s Court in Suva charged with defilement.
He is charged for having sexual intercourse with a minor.
Bail was approved by Magistrate Pulekari Low when the accused made his first appearance yesterday.

It was alleged that on January 15, in Suva, the accused committed the offence.
Although the parents of the accused had already arranged for two sureties, Magistrate Low accepted them as the sureties who would make sure the accused attend all his court proceedings.
Magistrate Low released the accused on a non-cash bail of $500.

The sureties have been conditioned to each pay $500 should the accused fail to appear in court for his next proceeding.
The accused was advised by the court never to reoffend and not to communicate with the complainant or victim about the matter.
He has also been advised not to change his residential address.
The accused told the court that he had no relationship to the victim.
Magistrate Low adjourned the matter to March 12 for mention to check on his legal representation.
