Kaumaitotoya Champions Women In Agriculture
Ms Kaumaitotoya has been championing women in the field of agriculture for nearly a decade, which earned her the prestigious Pacific’s Stars of Oceania Award of the University of Hawaii in 2017.

Lavinia Kaumaitotoya knows too well that women representation in politics is of the essence in any developing democracy.
The 53-year-old is an Agriculturalist, Gender Development Advocate, Commercial and Project Management and is among the women provisional candidates standing for The People’s Alliance.
Ms Kaumaitotoya is originally from Nayau Island in the Lau Province.

Among the alumni of awardees is current Prime Minister of Samoa, Fiame Naomi Mata’afa.
Ms Kaumaitotoya also spent over 18 years in the aviation and sea-port sector which have honed her commercial management skills.
She is no stranger to holding high profile leadership positions, she was the first local woman general manager of the Pacific Farmers Organisation secretariat,
She was the first local woman general manager of the Pacific Island Farmers Organisation Network secretariat- (PIFON), which is headquartered in Nadi, until recently.
Her educational background include a Bachelor of Commerce, post-graduate Diploma in Marketing and Masters in Business Administration at the University of the South Pacific.
At the center of her passion is volunteerism, charity work, farming and reading.
