Kawakawa, Donu Ban Campaign Begins

The ban comes into effect from June 1 to September 30, 2019.

Awareness in villages, communities and schools have already begun for the upcoming seasonal ban on Kawakawa (Grouper) and Donu (Coral Trouts).

Fisheries Officer based on the island of Cicia, Lau, Sailosi Drili has been carrying out extensive awareness programmes in Natoka­lau District School as well as Cicia High School.

Fisheries officers around the country have also been actively visiting villages and communi­ties to remind them of the dates as there will be strict monitoring car­ried out during the four months ban.

The ban comes into effect from June 1 to September 30, 2019.
