Kereni Saurara is the first in her family to lead a student council body. She also aspires to be her family’s first doctor.

The 18-year-old was badged as the head girl of Ballantine Memorial School on Friday.

Kereni referred quoted one Bible verse she claims keeps her going.

Luke one verse 37 – For with God nothing shall be impossible, this has always been my anchor of faith whenever I felt low,” she said.

“I’m really blessed and thankful for the opportunity that has been bestowed to me, faith goes a long way.”

Kereni is the second oldest in her family.

She said the badge does not only mean responsibilities, but also challenges that would be met along the way.
