It’s always a proud moment for every father seeing his children succeed, says former Police Chief of Operations, Abdul Khan.

After being in the Fiji Police Force for 29 years, Mr Khan was one of the proudest fathers during the swearing-in ceremony for graduate lawyers at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva on Friday.

His daughter, Shamama Khan was one of the graduates.

“I am the proudest father because there is nothing that I wanted more than seeing my children succeed in life,” he said.

“The principles of ethics and honesty that I’ve always held, I want her to uphold as well.”

Ms Khan said growing up and watching her father in uniform inspired him to be like him.

“I have goals that I am slowly ticking off my list, and although I can’t share what my goals are, I am glad that things are happening and they’re happening now,” she said.

“I owe my success to my parents and family for the support rendered to me over the past years of my studies and I hope to become better as I journey through the legal fraternity.”

He mother, Sharista Khan said: “I am a proud mother, but I could not say anything anymore because I might cry,” she said.
