Khan Family foster legacy with Nawaka Village
The upgraded road, funded by the Khan family and opened by the Tui Nawaka, Ratu Joeli Derenalagi Naevo, is now tar-sealed with proper drainage on both sides.

A long-standing relationship between Ashfaaq Khan’s family and the vanua of Nawaka strengthened recently with the upgrade of a road near the village.
Named M E Khan Road, after Mr Khan’s grandfather, Mohammed Esaq Khan, the road will continue to serve the villagers of Nawaka and nearby residents.
The upgraded road, funded by the Khan family and opened by the Tui Nawaka, Ratu Joeli Derenalagi Naevo, is now tar-sealed with proper drainage on both sides.

The late Mohammed Esaq Khan was the first Indian settler in Nawaka, who later became a prominent businessman in Nadi during the late 1940s to 1960s.
He owned the CSR-owned bungalow and, along with his brothers, ran successful businesses under the name M.E.Khan and Company.
His enterprises included an electrical powerhouse, butcher shop, ice factory, and dairy farm that supplied fresh milk to the people of Nadi.
“This road stands as a lasting tribute to his legacy and contributions to Nawaka,” Mr Ashfaaq Khan, managing director of Al Hamd Smart Living said.
