His Majesty King Charles III expressed his regrets for not visiting Fiji during his recent Pacific tour.

King Charles III visited the Pacific; it concluded at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Samoa in October.

His Majesty made this known while receiving the Letters of Credence from Fiji’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Jovilisi Vulailai Suveinakama at Buckingham Palace last Thursday.

The High Commissioner was accompanied by his partner, Nancy Evans.

“I am heartily saddened not to have come to Fiji but it was doctors’ advice.

“I was pleased to meet the Prime Minister at CHOGM in Samoa,” King Charles III said.

“I am still keen to get to Fiji. Please send my regards to His Excellency the President. Fiji is very much in my heart.”

His Majesty also highlighted possible opportunities for improved economic collaboration and conveyed a strong interest in bolstering Fiji’s mahogany and sugar sectors.

Additionally, His Majesty King Charles III acknowledged the substantial contribution and commitment of the more than 2000 Fijian soldiers now serving in the British Armed Forces to the defence capabilities of the United Kingdom.

Fiji’s Commissioner 

The Fiji High Commission in London extends its diplomatic representation beyond the United Kingdom.

Mr Suveinakama has accreditation to the Republic of Ireland, the Kingdom of Morocco, and the Holy See.
