Kiti Temo Tipped For Chief Protocol Officer Role

Official Secretary for the Office of the President, Kiti Temo, is tipped to be the new Chief of Protocol with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Her position at the State House was advertised by the Office of the President in the dailies on Saturday.

Ms Temo has held the role of official secretary since the Presidency of Jioji Konrote.

The role of the Official Secretary is pivotal in ensuring that all advice tendered to the President aligns with Fiji’s Constitution.

The successful applicant will be tasked with liaising closely with the Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers, coordinating through their respective Permanent Secretaries to ensure the accuracy and constitutional consistency of the advice provided to the President.

As Head of Department, the Official Secretary will also oversee the daily operations of the Office of the President, ensuring that its functions run smoothly and in accordance with the law.

The job advertisement specified that applicants must demonstrate a commitment to public service values as outlined in the Fijian Constitution, with a strong emphasis on good character and integrity. Only Fijian citizens under the age of 60 are eligible to apply for the role.
