The design and bidding documents for the Korosomo bypass is expected to be released in March next year.
This was confirmed by Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) acting chief executive officer Kamal Prasad on an update of the frequented road along the Labasa/Seaqaqa Highway in Vanua Levu.
On January 31 this year, the impact of the Tropical Cyclone Ana caused a major slip on the road.

As a result, the authority zeroed in on constructing an access road which was open to traffic on March 15.
The authority used the cut material to build up the slip area to create temporary access to accommodate the legal load.
“We are finalising the design drawings and bidding documents while waiting for the Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) to relocate power poles,” Mr Prasad said.
The bypass road according to the initial plan of 800 metres three-lane is few metres away from the slip.
