Koya To Open New Mosque Tomorrow

A new mosque at Sonaisali, Nadi, will open its doors on Saturday.
The mosque, constructed at a cost of $1 million, is owned by the Masjid Hanifa Association Trust.
Trust chairman Bobby Khan said funding for the construction came from the local Muslim community and those living overseas. It took a year to build.

The land on where the mosque sits, was donated. It was built by the family of Mr and Mrs Khan of Western Home Limited.
Mr Khan, as a Property developer, said: “It has been a wonderful journey building this Mosque which has given me great pleasure and satisfaction. It will be open before this Ramadan.
“I have taken on this project purely to be built on donations from my company. And some of our brothers and sisters have donated. We all know what we will get after we depart this world donating for a mosque.”
The building also has a concrete driveway, tiles, carpets, and plumbing was carried out.
Mr Khan wishes to thank everyone who has donated, in any way, towards the construction of the mosque. The Minister for Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport, Faiyaz Koya, will officiate the opening at 2pm tomorrow.
