Labasa Airport closed for runway upgrade

Labasa Airport has been temporarily closed to allow essential construction and safety upgrade works.

The airport will remain closed until March 27, 2026.

The works form part of a major upgrade aimed at enhancing runway safety and improving the overall travel experience for passengers and stakeholders in the Northern Division.

Travellers are advised to make alternative travel arrangements during the closure period.

Authorities have thanked the public for their patience and understanding as improvements are carried out to deliver a stronger and safer runway for the North.
