Mohammed Hassan and his son, Mohammed Imran Ibrahim, invested $200,000 and established their first fuel station along Vunimoli-Korotari Rd in Labasa.

The project will significantly benefit numerous sugarcane, vegetable, livestock, and rice farmers in Naduna, Waidamudamu, Nakama, Sarava, and the surrounding areas.

Mr Hassan, 59, secured a loan with the Fiji Development Bank’s (FDB) to make their dream a reality. He said there was a need for a fuel station in the area.

“From a very young age, I worked with my father on his sugarcane farm, and I saw the struggle he faced when there was no place to refuel our vehicle,” Mr Hassan said.

“This is like a dream come true for me, and I am happy that I was able to fulfil it with the support from FDB and my family,” the father of two said.

“I believe that if we work diligently and have a vision, then only we can be successful in life.”

He said even elderly people could achieve their vision if they put their faith in God.

The station is open seven days a week, from 6am to 9pm.
