Labasa restaurants warned on food standards

Labasa restaurant and food outlet owners have been warned to comply with food standards as authorities tighten enforcement.

Divisional Health Inspector Northern, Vakaruru Cavuilati, emphasised the importance of hygiene and food quality, urging operators to uphold public health standards.

With over 50 restaurants in Labasa, food outlets are graded from A to D, with C-graded establishments advised to improve.

Mr Cavuilati highlighted complaints about substandard food and urged dissatisfied customers to report directly to authorities instead of posting on social media.

He assured that his team, alongside the Labasa Town Council, would enforce regulations when necessary.

 

CORRECTION
