Lagi Family Loses 3-Bedroom House In Fire
When contacted, the National Fire Authority said they were finalising a report in regards to the fire.

A family in Labasa are baffled as to how their house was destroyed in a fire on the first day of Ramadan.
No one was at their home in Lagi, during the time of the incident. The family lost everything.
Ibnan Hussain said their neighbour saw smoke coming from the house between 11am to 12pm and alerted his father, Faruk Hussain who was staying a few metres away.

He said his father, 55, a sugarcane farmer built the three-bedroom house 10 years ago for him.

Faruk Hussain said they couldn’t save anything because the fire had spread fast.
He said it was an emotional day for the family as they had just begun observing 30 days of fasting from Monday.
“With only a few days left for school, I was thinking how to support my grandchildren because my son, a former lorry driver, is jobless.”
When contacted, the National Fire Authority said they were finalising a report in regards to the fire.
