Lautoka, Nadi Rotaract Plant 250 Trees

Members of the Lautoka Sugarcity and Nadi Rotaract clubs were joined by the Ministry of Forestry guides to mark Earth Day by planting 250 tree seedlings.
They were planted around the Transformation International (Fiji) branch in Navutu, Lautoka on Saturday.

Lautoka Sugarcity Rotaract Club President Melissa Natawake said there were a total of fifty participants, and this was their first project for the year.
She said the Ministry of Forestry provided the hardwood seedlings such as mahogany and rain tree (vaivai) seedlings while the Nadi Rotary Club and the Lautoka Sugarcity Rotaract Club provided the fruit trees seedlings.
Ministry of Forestry representative Setareki Namuloilagi said the mahogany and the fruit trees would be an ideal source of revenue for Transformation International (Fiji).
Transformation International (Fiji) representative Marama Yee thanked all those who heeded the call for the community tree-planting project.
