Lautoka Swimming Pool to Finish in December
“We have finally settled legal matters that needed to be resolved. The tender for the project manager has been completed,” Ms Sharma said.

The controversial $12million Lautoka Swimming Pool project will be completed by the end of this year.
Lautoka City Council chief executive officer, Mohammed Khan said the council was given the budget and greenlight to complete works on the pool.
“Just today (yesterday) we have been given a “go ahead’ and we will be engaging with the project manager,” he said.

Government has pledged an additional $4.5million to ensure the project is successfully completed. The assurance for a possible December finish came from Ministry of Local Government Permanent Secretary, Sheema Sharma.
This was during a ratepayer’s consultation at Churchill Park.
