Wainikiti Latuvere Leana has demonstrated resilience and determination in her journey to success.

Last Friday, the 26-year-old graduated with a degree in Tourism Studies and Management from the School of Business and Economics at the University of Fiji.

Originally from Voua Village in Nadroga, with maternal ties to Balenabelo Village, Ms Leana now manages Coastline Fiji in Sigatoka.

After completing high school, she worked for seven years at Jacks of Fiji before deciding to pursue higher education, inspired by her late sister, Savaira Basiyalo.

"She was the one who motivated me. I wish she were here to witness my achievement," Ms Leana said.

Balancing work, studies, and family commitments was not easy, but Ms Leana remained focused.

"I skipped social functions and church services to complete assignments and study.

"I'd listen to sermons on the radio later. My goal was to finish my degree," she said.

She described the process as mentally taxing, with many sleepless nights spent on assignments and presentations, but she never gave up.

"A lot of effort went into balancing everything. It was challenging, but in the end, it was all worth it," she added.

Ms Leana expressed gratitude to her family for their unwavering support, dedicating her achievement to her late sister, parents, and siblings.

Her mother, Makereta Tupou, shared her pride and joy at the graduation ceremony.

"I cried watching her walk across the stage to receive her certificate. It was a proud moment. We faced many challenges, but with God's strength, we overcame them," Ms Tupou said.
