Having an open line of communication with students and teachers is a priority for Vilimaina Tuivaga
The soft-spoken teenager from Yaroi, Matuku in Lau, was badged as the head girl for Adi Cakobau School in front of hundreds of parents, students and well-wishers yesterday.
Her independent streak and personal relationship with God is what sets her apart from her peers.

She is determined to strengthen the sisterhood bond among ACS students by establishing an open channel of communication between junior and senior students.
“Some girls face problems in their homes so we are trying to strengthen the sisterhood,” said the head girl.
“Sometimes the juniors in previous years cannot talk to us seniors so now we are trying to open that channel of communication to strengthen the sisterhood bond.
“Before they used to talk among themselves at their respective levels, but now we seniors want to bond with them because this is a real family situation at school.”
