‘Letters To The Editor’: Hypocrisy
The fact that USP took Reddy back, after all the things he has done against USP during his ministerial tenure, just feels ridiculous and superficial.

The current issue taking shape at the University of the South Pacific (USP) portrays hypocrisy above everything else.
The very people who protested heavily during Professor Pal's deportation issue last year are now the same people who are brushed aside by the very man they stood up for.
The plight of the USP staff to have a pay increase is long overdue; way before COVID-19 came into the picture.

Why is this issue taking so long to resolve?
It's not a matter of opinion, nor is it a trivial matter; this is a matter of equity.
Staff members at USP deserve to have their voices heard. Not only hearing their voices but also ensuring that their concerns are met.
These people are literally the backbone of the university! Their issues should be at the top of the agenda.
Also, I want to know why USP rehired Dr Mahendra Reddy?
Wasn't he part of the group who deported Professor Pal?
Who continuously justified his deportation and criticised the university?
The fact that USP took Reddy back, after all the things he has done against USP during his ministerial tenure, just feels ridiculous and superficial.
I hope this issue is resolved swiftly and promptly.
