Liliana Warid clears air on diplomatic application

A Fijian executive and social media influencer has clarified that her application for the Head of Mission position is not connected to the vacancies recently highlighted by the Prime Minister.

Liliana Pareti Warid explained in a video posted on her Facebook page that she was contacted by the Office of the Prime Minister, which confirmed that her application, submitted in May this year, was separate from the positions in Israel, Japan, Geneva, and other missions mentioned by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka.

Mrs Warid is a Fijian leader with a strong background in finance, governance, and community development. She currently serves as executive chair of the Fiji Public Trustee Corporation and co-head of the Fiji Hub at Tower Insurance.

A former political candidate, she has also held senior roles at ANZ, Westpac, and the Asian Development Bank. Known for her advocacy in youth empowerment, inclusive development, and media freedom, Ms Warid hosts the inspirational platform Life with Liliana & Friends.

Questions have been sent to Mr Rabuka for comment regarding her application.
