Residents living in and around Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua have been advised to expect gunshots and explosive sounds over the next two months as the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) conducts live training exercises.

In a public notice, the RFMF said the exercises will run throughout May and June 2026 at the Nabua-based barracks.

The training will involve the use of live ammunition, blank rounds and pyrotechnics to simulate battle conditions, with activities scheduled during both day and night.

Members of the public, particularly those in nearby communities, have been urged not to be alarmed during this period.

The RFMF said the exercises are controlled operations and that all necessary safety measures have been put in place before their commencement.
