The 63-year-old farmer from Sabuta in Nadogo, Macuata, turned to farming after retiring from the then Government Printing Press at Vatuwaqa, Suva.
He is also a sugarcane farmer.

He said goat and sheep farming earned good income during the festive and busy periods. He is also engaged in beef and cattle farming and poultry.

He pleads with the Ministry of Agriculture Labasa office to assist in providing high protein grass and pastures to be trialed and distributed to farmers.

Farmers welcome rain
Mr Khan welcomes rain in the North in the past few weeks after a bout of dry spell.
He said the wet weather helped in his farm management, especially his sugarcane yield, which produced about 100 tonnes per year.
“To increase this production scale, he requested if the Ministry of Sugar officials could train them on better cane varieties.”
Mr Khan said farmers must diversify their knowledge on modern pasture management skills rather than depending on basic and traditional methods of farming.
