Two years into their marriage, Ardardshna and Zibraaz Sahib still cherish Valentine's Day as a significant occasion to celebrate their love.

Ms Ardarshna holds the position of a business relationship officer in Lautoka, while Mr Zibraaz is not only a football player for Lautoka Football but also works at Punja & Sons Pte Limited.

"For us, Valentine's Day holds a special significance-it's a time to celebrate love and show appreciation for having each other in our lives," Ms Ardarshna said.

The couple see Valentine's Day as an opportunity to bask in the essence of their romance and to honour the depth of their affection for one another.

“We believe that every day should embody the spirit of Valentine’s Day for couples, where expressions of love, words of affirmation, and quality time are shared,” they remarked.

“The beauty of our marriage lies in the fact that I am a Christian, and he is Muslim,” Ms Ardardshna shared.

“We embrace and celebrate our differences, learning and growing together in understanding and respect for each other’s religions and backgrounds.”

Despite the challenges posed by a long-distance relationship, the couple made it a point to meet at least once a week.

Mr Zibraaz’s rigorous football schedule often kept him occupied, leaving little time for leisure.

“Zibraaz’s dedication to football, instilled in him by his father, is admirable,” Ms Ardardshna said.

“I’m always there, cheering him on from the sidelines, offering unwavering support and encouragement."

“His commitment and hard work are truly inspiring.”

While Ms Ardardshna lives with her parents in Suva and Mr Zibraaz in Lautoka, they maintain communication through calls and messages.

Memories Fond memories of Mr Zibraaz visiting Suva to meet Ms Ardardshna and her family during football tournaments are etched in their minds.

“The turning point in our relationship was when he proposed, and I happily said ‘yes’,” Ms Ardardshna said proudly.

“That moment still feels fresh in our minds, and it marks the beginning of our journey together.”

Their marriage bridged the geographical gap, symbolising the triumph of love, patience, and faith over distance.

“Marriage, for us, is about companionship and unwavering support,” they affirmed.

“It provides a sense of security— both emotional and financial. Our plan for this Valentine’s Day is a romantic dinner date, cherishing each other’s company.”

Their message to others embarking on the journey of love is simple yet profound: “To nurture a strong and healthy relationship, prioritise communication, compromise, and commitment—the three pillars of enduring love.”
