Lovoni assault case lodged over burial dispute

Police have confirmed that a case of assault from Lovoni, Levuka, was lodged on Tuesday and is believed to be linked to the burial of the late Jone Vakarise.

The assault occurred on Sunday. Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed the suspect was arrested.

Mr Vakarise will be laid to rest in Lovoni, Levuka, tomorrow.

Meanwhile, investigations into the death of Mr Vakarise in military custody continue.
