The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has warned bus drivers to signal when leaving bus stops or bus bays to be given way by the other drivers on the road.

Many bus drivers are seen to bully their way out of bus bays and stops without any signal, and that has caused many drivers inconvenience.

The bus drivers should signal their intention to leave a bus bay or bus stop in order to be given way.

Drivers have to give way to these buses that are signalling to leave bus bays or stops.

LTA also  wishes to advise bus operators/drivers that playing of loud music on buses is not allowed which contravenes Public Service Vehicle licence conditions.

Any bus operator/driver found breaking the law will be issued with the traffic infringement notice.

Bus operators/drivers are advised to adhere to their Public Service code of conduct at all times and take heed of the notice.

The payment of cash to bus drivers for any fare is illegal and will result in a Traffic Infringement Notice being issued to the Driver of the Bus and the  Passenger who has paid the cash.

If you witness a bus driver taking cash for a bus fare notify the LTA with the following details:

Name of Bus Operator

Vehicle Registration Number

Bus proceeding from Origin to Destination

Date,time and place of offence

Your name and contact details
