Macuata Chief Hopes to Nip Illicit Drug Use

A prominent chief of Macuata Province is pleading with villagers, especially youth to refrain from the use and cultivation of marijuana.
In his bid, the Tui Nadogo, Ratu Ilisaniti Malodali, is spearheading awareness programmes through religious and traditional engagements.
Within the district there are 10 villages and 22 tribes (yavusa) and the Tui Nadogo said being God-fearing people was integral to shaping a person’s character so each family must forge an environment of warmth and good values.

Identify potential suspects
Villagers have been urged by Tui Nadogo, to increase their own monitoring to identify those suspects engaged in the marijuana and meth drug trade.
“Even those extended families engaging in crime must be taken to task,” he said.
