The Macuata Muslim League president Hazeem Hussein has conveyed his message of condolences to the families of victims in the mass shootings at mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand on Friday.
“With due advice from the Commissioner Northern we are trying to organise a get together for those who want to pay tribute and convey their condolences for the victims and their families,” Mr Hussein said.
“It is sad that something of this nature has happened; there are two former residents of Labasa who were involved in the mass shooting,” the Macuata Muslim League president said.

“Why are there people who could do such a heinous act to spoil other people's’ faith?
“It is with deep sorrow that families in Christchurch will go through this ordeal, but I am thankful to those Fijians and families who are supportive in helping the families during this time of grief,” Mr Hussein added.
There are 25 mosques and seven Muslim faith-based schools in Vanua Levu.
