Major Challenges Soldiers To Raise Discipline, Adhere To Ethics

The Ministry of Defence Senior Military Liaison Officer Major Mesake Daunitoko has issued a challenge to the Republic of Fiji Military Forces personnel selected for the Multinational Force & Observers (MFO) mission.

The Ministry of Defence Senior Military Liaison Officer Major Mesake Daunitoko has issued a challenge to the Republic of Fiji Military Forces personnel selected for the Multinational Force & Observers (MFO) mission.

This is for them to constantly aim to raise their standard of discipline, their adherence to military ethos and values.

He spoke during the official opening of their six weeks pre-deployment training at Blackrock Peacekeeping School in Nadi on Monday January 28, 2019.

During his opening address, Major Daunitoko gave an overview of the current situation in Sinai, the economic developments in the region and the arrangements with other contributing countries with- in the area of operations.

He reminded troops of the importance of following the proper channel of communication in order to avoid misunderstanding along the chain of command.

Major Daunitoko also shared some of the challenges he faced.

He said that if the troops had listened attentively to all the lessons given by their instructors during their draft training, than they should be well versed and equipped to undertake the task given to them in the mission area.

Also in attendance were the Department of Peacekeeping Chief Staff Officer Admin Major Sakiasi Baka, Officer Commanding Blackrock Peacekeeping School Captain John Dugu and the Australian training officer attaché Captain Damien Tudehope.

Major Daunitoko was the Commanding Officer 2nd Fiji Infantry Regiment Batt 36 under MFO in Sinai, Egypt from 2017–2018.
