Malimali Is Electoral Commission Temporary Chair

Suva lawyer Barbara Malimali looks forward to the challenges that accompany her role as the temporary chairperson of the Electoral Com­mission (EC).

Prime Minister and chairperson of the Constitu­tional Offices Commission (COC) Sitiveni Rabuka announced her appointment in a post COC media conference on Friday evening.

Former EC chair Mukesh Nand resigned from his post on June 23 and the commission was without a quorum since the expiration of terms of four of its members in March.

PM Rabuka also announced the appointment of Mr Reginald Jokhan as a member of the electoral com­mission.
