Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has confirmed that the long-awaited Commission of Inquiry (COI) report into the appointment of Barbara Malimali as Commissioner Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC), will be presented today.
“I am meeting them tomorrow (today) where the report will be expected, as they had finished today (yesterday),” he said.
“No, I have not seen the report yet,” he said during an interview yesterday.

The update follows multiple delays in the submission of the report.
Last week, Janet Mason, Counsel Assisting the Commission, announced another one-week delay, pushing the expected delivery date from April 22 to April 29.
The inquiry, chaired by Supreme Court Justice David Aston-Lewis, was established to determine whether Malimali’s September 2024 appointment as FICAC Commissioner followed proper legal procedures.
It is also investigating claims of improper or illegal influence, including whether vested interests were involved in FICAC cases against high-profile politicians, ministers, and senior public servants.
Once presented, the final report will be reviewed by the President and Prime Minister, who will decide on its public release and any further action.
