Mum tells

Mr Karan, who had been living in the United States (U.S), had been in Fiji for two weeks visiting his mother, Vimla Wati, 79, and a brother.

He migrated to the U.S with his wife and two sons 20 years ago.”

“Every day he calls us and took time to visit us every year. He always ensures that we do not lack anything,” Ms Wati said.

“I have three children. My daughter is married and lives with her family. I am living with a son, who has a disability.

“Sudha was my only hope. On Thursday before he left home, he told me he was going to buy new mattresses for us and will buy our dinner.

“Instead that expectation turned out sore when we received the news of his death. He gave me a promise that next he will celebrate my 80th birthday. Now that he is gone, all my hope is gone,” she said.

Police continue investigations.
