Man Allegedly Kills Wife, Surrenders

Residents of Kaloa Street in Kinoya, Nasinu are coming to grips with the brutal death of a woman on Sunday night.
A Police report confirmed that a 53-year-old man surrendered himself to the Valelevu Police Station for allegedly killing his wife.
The man has been identified as Fatai and the victim as Bale. They are both from Lau and had been renting at Kaloa Street for three months now, at a house belonging to Niraj Prasad. Mr Prasad’s son, Nikhil said his parents heard the woman shout at least twice.

“When he (Mr Prasad) went outside, he saw Fatai walking towards the road. He went and knocked on the door. There was no answer,” Nikhil said. “He peaked through the window and saw the woman lying motionless.”
Two elderly women who live in the house next door said the alleged suspect came to them earlier in the day and was quite tearful as he spoke of his wife’s alleged infidelity.
The two women said they had advised the man to go to a church leader and get advice. They said the couple had five children.
The Police report said the post mortem examination of the body of a woman that was discovered at her home in Kinoya will be carried out today.
The suspect is still in custody and investigations continue
This is the second such incident to happen in the area. In 2015, just two houses away, a man had knifed his wife, killed his two children and then committed suicide.
