A farmer has been charged for allegedly assaulting a man on the government ship, MV Vulilagi while it was sailing to the Lau Group for pre-polling.

A farmer has been charged for allegedly assaulting a man on the government ship, MV Vulilagi while it was sailing to the Lau Group for pre-polling.
Setoki Taveta appeared before Magistrate Jeremiah Savou at the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday.
Taveta is charged with one count each of assault causing actual bodily harm and act with intent to cause grievous harm.

It is alleged that on December 6 in Lau, Taveta assaulted Paula Dabea by causing him actual bodily harm.
