Man charged with rape of wife awaits plea
State Prosecutor from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Swastika Sharma sought time to file information in the matter.

A 34-year-old man who is facing one count of rape of his wife has been remanded in custody by the High Court in Suva.
The accused appeared before Justice Daniel Goundar.
It is alleged that on January 18, 2019, at Suva, the accused had unlawful carnal knowledge of the complainant without her consent.

She served the accused the disclosures.
Ms Sharma also told the court that the complainant in the matter was the accused’s 32-year-old wife.
The accused opted for legal representation from the Legal Aid Commission.
The matter was adjourned to May 10 for plea.
